A large public sector organisation embarked on a
comprehensive leadership programme in the summer of 2004. In the initial
stages, a staff survey was carried out which showed that leaders in the
organisation would benefit from developing their communication, visibility
and integration of their staff. There followed an adaptation of the leadership framework with
corresponding 360 degree feedback and a development centre which also
doubled as a diagnostic for follow-on programmes. This took place in form of a three day development workshop where Managers
and Leaders analysed and extended their leadership strengths with the help
of the SIZE Success model of personality, practised new insights,
discussed issues and committed to follow up in a detailed development
plan. Supported in this not only by the practical application of the SIZE
Success model of personality but also the corresponding questionnaire. The success? – a year after the completion of the programme, the staff
survey showed an 8% increase in the contentment with and trust of the
management and leadership!
This, even if not huge, demonstrates a clear
and measurable improvement. Sabine worked as an associate of
Roffey Park Institute on this programme
and was influential in introducing SIZE Success to them.
